Count the big coins first
Counting coins to a dollar means adding quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies — but only if you count them in order from largest to smallest value. Skip-count the quarters by 25s, dimes by 10s, nickels by 5s, then add pennies by 1s.
How to use it
Start with the biggest coin and work down. Say the running total out loud as you go. Warm up with pennies and nickels, then take on counting money and money word problems.
