Subtracting the big numbers

Multi-digit subtraction extends the standard algorithm to larger numbers, where students may borrow across several columns — including the toughest case, borrowing across zeros (as in 50,000 − 23,456). Careful column alignment and place-value sense keep it manageable.

How to use it
